Title: Near-infrared light-curves of Core Collapse Supernovae
Abstract: We propose to measure the near-infrared lightcurves of five core collapse supernovae (CCSNe) until late epochs (>1 yr). Our proposed observations would provide information on the crucial phase when dust production may set in. The WHIRC near-infrared observations are particularly interesting because we have demonstrated the ability to track the SNe with WHIRC to very late times (4+ years) and faint magnitudes (~20 at JHKs). From these observations, we will construct near-infrared lightcurves for all targets that include sufficient time coverage that other physical properties such as the ^56Ni mass and light echos from circumstellar and interstellar dust can be measured and disentangled from dust production effects.
