Title: IDPS: a direct imaging survey of Jovian planets around young and close massive stars.
Abstract: Following our discovery of the HR 8799 three-planet system at Gemini, we propose to pursue our ongoing deep AO/ADI exoplanet massive young star survey with the acquisition of 50 new AF stars. This new sample is estimated to have a 50% chance of detecting one or more planets. It will also increase the number of observed AF stars to 150, a sample size similar to the late-type star sample acquired as part of other surveys. An overall statistical analysis of all surveys will allow establishing, for the first time, a broader picture of the population of Jovian planets at large semi-major axes around a wide range of stellar mass.
