Title: Mapping the Nearby Universe at low Galactic latitudes with the 2MASS Redshift Survey

Abstract: Over the past seventeen years, we have been carrying out an all-sky, flux-limited redshift survey of $sim 45000$ 2MASS galaxies which has served as the basis for completed and on-going studies of the peculiar velocity field within 15000 km/s, galaxy biasing, luminosity functions and cluster properties. Our survey represents an order-of-magnitude improvement over previous work in terms of number of objects and uniformity of the selection criteria and completeness in sky coverage. We request 1 night at SOAR in 2018A to obtain redshifts for the last 47 galaxies in our sample. They are located at low Galactic latitudes ($5^circ < |b| < 10^circ$ deg) and probe important areas of the local density field.
