Title: Knowing the star, knowing the planet: the characterizing of exoplanet host stars with interferometry

Abstract: After the discovery of thousands of exoplanets, the new challenge of the 21th century has become their characterization. To derive the exoplanets bulk density and internal composition, we need to know both their mass and radius. These parameters are totally dependent on the stellar host parameters.
We want to continue our program of transiting exoplanet host stars observations (started in 2014) that aimes at measuring their angular diameters. During the period 2018A, we want to observe HD97658, in order to complete and finish the determination of its angular diameter, that started in March 2017. Combined with the distance to the star, these interferometric measurements will provide model-independent stellar and planetary radii.
Another very powerful technique for stellar parameters determination is asteroseismology; combined with interferometry, it is the best tool for determining the age of stars and also supply accurate global stellar parameters. The second part of this proposal consists in obtaining interferometric data for one asteroseismic target which hosts two exoplanets. We will thus be able to constrain the star’s properties and those of its exoplanets with exquisite accuracy.
