Title: Imaging the Evolution and Expansion of Nova Ejecta
Abstract: We request CHARA imaging of a bright, young Galactic nova in order to measure how the morphology of its ejecta changes as it expands. These observations will be complemented at late times by imaging with radio interferometer arrays like the VLA and e-MERLIN. These observations have important implications for understanding common envelope evolution, shock formation, and ejecta shaping in novae, and extending this understanding to other stellar outflows.
