Title: Search for long period companions of putatively single X-ray emitting Wolf-Rayet stars

Abstract: We propose to search for widely separated massive companions to two putatively single WR stars with X-ray properties suggestive of binary colliding wind emission. CHARA interferometric imaging with angular resolution of 0.5 mas will probe binary separations as close as 1 AU. Since closer massive companions would have been detected in searches for radial velocity variations, this search will detect or exclude any companion that could produce a colliding wind shock. A non-detection would require re-evaluation of current paradigms for X-ray generation in WR stars.
