Title: The not so simple Galactic globular cluster

Abstract: We plan to use $ugri$ DECam observations to investigate for and characterize tidal streams and stellar halos around the peculiar Galactic globular cluster $omega$ Cen. The new data will be combined with $ugri$ DECam photometry for a field centered on the cluster we recently reduced. The combined dataset will be then used to characterize the properties of the stellar populations with different metallicities present in the cluster and of different evolutionary phases as a function of the radial distance. For the crowded central regions of the cluster we will combine DECam observations with ACS/HST photometry we have available for $omega$ Cen.
