Title: The kinematics of the different stellar populations of the Galactic globular cluster Cen

Abstract: We plan to measure radial velocities for a sample of $sim$350 red- giant branch stars of the Galactic globular cluster omc with the 2dF- AAOmega multi-object spectrograph of the Anglo-Australian Telescope. omc hosts multiple stellar populations with different heavy metal abundances. The spectra we propose to collect will allow us to characterize for the first time the kinematics of the cluster by using a statistically significant sample of either the most metal-poor and the most metal-rich stars. We will then be able to investigate for the presence of differences in the kinematics of these stellar populations up to the distance of the tidal radius. The same data set will also allow us to characterize omc velocity dispersion for distances larger than 30'. An increase in the velocity dispersion in the outskirts of the cluster might imply tidal stripping happening in the past.
