Title: Probing the Physics of Exoplanet Atmospheres: Characterization of a Cold, Low-mass Exoplanet with GPI

Abstract: HD 131399Ab is a young Jovian planet in a triple star system that we recently discovered using VLT/SPHERE. We propose follow-up observations with GPI to verify the tentative 0.96-1.4 Ám discovery spectrum obtained with SPHERE, which will enable studies of exoplanet atmospheres as a function of mass and temperature through the cloudy/clear transition (L/T spectral types). Our obserations will utilize the full spectral coverage of GPI while it is still available in the Sourthern hemisphere, and will simultaneously confirm/reject tentative detections of other planets in the system.
