Title: Confirming new white dwarf-brown dwarf binaries

Abstract: We have selected 8 spectroscopically identified white dwarfs with infrared excesses indicative of an unresolved L dwarf companion. We propose this programme to obtain near-IR spectroscopy of these systems to confirm the spectral type of the substellar secondary, providing a sample of new white dwarf-brown dwarf binaries which will be used to test the effects of irradiation on brown dwarf atmospheres.

Program Type: Standard/Galactic

Scheduled Nights:
Run 1 (2017A):  GEM-NQ/GNIRS -- 24hrs band 2 (GN-2017A-Q-52)
