Title: Secondary Eclipse Observations of Hot Jupiters with WHIRC

Abstract: We propose for 6 nights to observe $H$-band and $K_{s}$-band secondary eclipse events for three transiting hot Jupiter systems (WASP- 103b, HAT-P-23b, and HAT-P-36b) with WIYN/WHIRC. These observations will be used to measure the dayside effective temperatures of the planets, providing constraints on the efficiency of energy transport in their atmospheres. They will also be used to constrain the eccentricities of the planetary orbits. As a secondary goal we will also observe NIR primary transits for candidate planets from HAT which will be used in ruling out false positive blend scenarios, and determining the physical parameters of the planetary systems.

Program Type: Standard/NASA WIYN

Scheduled Nights:
Run 1 (2016A):  WIYN/WHIRC -- 3.5n on Apr 14 2016, Apr 24 2016, Apr 27 - Apr 28 2016
