Title: Determining the nature of donor stars in sub-luminous transient X-ray binaries

Abstract: Sub-luminous X-ray transients are systems which show X-ray outbursts that are too faint to be explained by our current disk instability theories. It is thought that this could be due to exotic nature of the donor star in these systems or inefficient accretion mechanisms. We wish to observe these systems in the Galactic bulge region in near-infrared during their outburst in order to study the companion star in these systems and shed light on the accretion mechanism in these systems.
