Title: The lowest luminosity Externally Irradiated HH Jets

Abstract: We propose to carry out a deep narrow band, high resolution imaging survey using the SOAR AO Module, of the faint M1082188 and M1701117 irradiated Herbig-Haro (HH) jets in the vicinity of the 2-3 Myr old $sigma$ Orionis cluster. The proposed program will enable us to make a sensitive determination of the spatial properties of the jet components, specifically of the position angle and orientation, as well as the existence, morphology and emission of knots and structure not previously detected. These observations will be the first high spatial resolution, narrow band images of irradiated HH jets at the very low-luminosity end, which will shed new light into the nature of accretion phenomena in very low-mass and/or more evolved young stars.
