Title: T&E with MOSA-2 in preparation for MOSA z-band Legacy Survey

Abstract: The CCDs in the MOSAIC 2 dewar are being upgraded in preparation for the MOSAIC z-band Legacy Survey. Yale is taking the lead in installing four 4kx4k LBNL 300um-thick deep depletion devices in the dewar, installing new controllers and control software, and is planning on delivering the working dewar in late August 2015. We are hoping to then interface the dewar with the MOSAIC1.1 instrument and test it in the lab during September 2015. We are requesting 8 nights of T&E time on the Mayall telescope for commissioning and testing the instrument hardware and software, evenly spread during the bright runs of October and November. In addition, we request 4 more nights during a December grey run to calibrate the instrument and test out the telescope and instrument software for survey operations for the MOSAIC z-band survey. A large group of NOAO, Yale and Berkeley personnel will be involved in both laboratory and mountain operations. Additional NOAO staff involved include Mike Fitzpatrick, Frank Valdes, Phil Daly Additional visitors from Yale and/or Berkeley are also to be expected. Personnel required on the mountain for each run will be identified on the ORP for that run.
