Title: High Resolution muti-color WHIRC+WTTM imaging of G196-3

Abstract: G196-3 is a brown dwarf companion to an M3 dwarf, and the brown dwarf itself may be a binary. NEWFIRM images in good seeing clearly indicate the brown dwarf is a multiple source. However, it now needs higher resolution imaging which WHIRC+WTTM can provide. Data in several filters will provide useful color information which can be used to constrain masses. Several repeats of a fairly substantial dither sequence are proposed, using several filters, so elapsed time of a half night on the sequence would be minimum to obtain the necessary coverage. More than one scheduled opportunity is proposed for chances of necessary good seeing/transparency conditions to occur. J2000 coordinates are RA 10 04 21.587 Dec +50 23 14.96
