IR Instrument Control System

Taking Pictures

There are three basic ways of taking pictures: go , observe , and movie .

The go and movie commands assume that the parameters defining the observation have already been set, either through an ask , a previous observe , or explicit assignment. The observe command will prompt the user for the various parameters (which ones are asked can be set using eask). See parameters, go, ask, observe, movie, eask.

Observations can be stopped by typing "abort <return> " in the instrument control window. One additional frame is completed immediately and the observation is stopped. The captured data is discarded.

"movie" is stopped by typing "end<retrun>" in the instrument control window.

Several commands are provided to make data taking easier. See raster9, do_standard, do_field,
