The Planetary Nebula Binary Working Group Wiki:

Shaping of nebulae around binary stars

PIs: Miguel Santander-Garcia, David Jones

Team: Romano Corradi, Antonio Mampaso, Myf Lloyd, Amy Tyndall

Aim: Understanding the origin of complexity in nebulae shaping and its link with binarity through spatio-kinematical modelling of nebulae around binary stars

Telescope/Instrument: INT+WFC, HST+WFPC2 (mostly from literature), VLT/UVES, SPM/MES, VLT/ARGUS, WHT+GHAFAS, NTT+3DNTT (in the future)

Technique: Combining high-resolution images with Longslit/Integral field spectroscopy/2D Fabry-Perot spectroscopy (currently) to track the mass-loss history (3-D morphology + 3-D velocity field)

Run(s) dates (or proposal deadline): ongoing

Target list(s): A sample of confirmed or suspected symbiotic Miras (Hen 2-104, Hen 2-147, R Aqr, Mz 3), novae (V458 Vul) and PN with confirmed/suspected binary central stars (A14, WeBo-1, G126.6+1.3)
