Description: Prepare a paper (scope, justification, how it would be done, and attached budget) describing how a post-doc or visiting scientist position would enhance science at NOAO. This will be submitted via the Funding/Budget subcommittee (K. Wilson) to AURA for consideration.
Schedule: Sept. 15th (or as confirmed by Karen Wilson)
Tasks: Item / Deadline / Status / Responsible person / Comments
- Confirm what's needed on this proposal and the deadline / DeYoung will discuss this with Wilson on 8/27/08 / COMPLETE
- Interact with Jannuzi, Strom/science subcommittee, science staff, etc. as needed to outline the need and potential / COMPLETE
- Interact with KPNO & NOAO management / administration to identify how it should be structured / COMPLETE
- Submit the proposal page to Karen Wilson by Sept. 15th or date tbd / COMPLETE
- Consider other options for supporting such a position
Costs: Depends on duration; see proposal.
