Additional information

Additional information about each binary or suspected binary central star.

A35: New unpublished WHAM data (Madsen and Frew 2008, in preparation) show the ionized gas has a near-zero velocity with respect to the LSR (and significantly different to the RV of the G8 subgiant BD -22 3467). The line-width of the gas is consistent with zero expansion. This suggests that Abell 35 is simply a Stromgren zone in the ambient ISM, ionized by a hot DAO white dwarf (the close visual companion to the G8 subgiant), which has recently evolved from the PN phase. This system still produces a strong wind, probably from the active, fast-rotating subgiant, which interacts with the inner zone of the emission nebula to produce the observed bowshock. This object is very unlikely to be a bona fide PN.

NGC2438: Composite spectrum (M3V companion) judged from Spitzer colors - work by Jana Bilikova presented at the 16th WD workshop in June 2008.

Hf 2-2: There is a small typo in De Marco, Hillwig & Smith (2008). The MACHO ID should be 139.32591.211 NOT 139.32591.221. The coordinates of 139.32591.211 are: 18:32:30.959999 -28:43:20.261000 (according to the MACHO starstat entry), which are at the correct CSPN position. link to lightcurve (phased)
