Magnetograms The new GONG instrument provides full-resolution magnetograms every minute, and this MTF-corrected images was made from the sum of 15 consecutive magnetograms. Noise is around 3 Gauss/pixel, and while work continues to reduce the zero-point uncertainty, it is currently less than 1 Gauss. The large version is at full 839x839 resolution.

The magnetic synoptic chart for GONG+ (top) is comparable in quality to that from the KPVT (bottom).
