Title: The low-redshift end of the cluster mass substructure function

Abstract: We propose a direct measure of the mass substructure in three nearby (z<0.06) clusters of galaxies using weak gravitational lensing. DECam's exceptionally wide field of view will allow us to trace the dark matter distribution out to the virial radius of the clusters and efficiently map halo mass substructure. The two-dimensional maps of projected mass will enable study of galaxy properties as a function of local substructure environment. We will quantify the effect of substructure on weak lensing mass measurements, a major uncertainty in the calibration of the cluster mass function. The depth and filter coverage of DECam imaging will also allow us to account for contamination of the low-redshift cluster sample by background galaxy clusters.
