Title: The GMOS-S imaging survey of the most distant clusters in the the Spitzer SPT Deep Field

Abstract: We request GMOS-S optical imaging in z-band to photometrically identify 20 newly discovered clusters in the Spitzer SPT Deep Field with estimated redshits z>1.5. GMOS data will be instrumental in caracterizing a well-defined sample that provides the ideal laboratory to understand how and when the most massive galaxies assemble their stellar mass, and the mechanism that led to a half their star formation as a function of redshift, local density and cluster mass.
