Title: Resolving the Mechanisms of Feeding and Feedback in Nearby AGN

Abstract: We ask for Gemini NIFS Z-band observations of 10 nearby (z < 0.04) AGN with existing NIFS K-band observations in the Gemini archives, to more than quadruple the number of AGN for which we can study both feedback (via [S III] emission in the Z-band) and feeding (via H_2 emission in the K-band) on the same scale (3'') and resolution (~0.1'') in the narrow-line region (NLR). With these data we will determine 1) the mass outflow rates and kinetic luminosities of the NLR outflows, 2) the transition point in mass, luminosity, and/or Eddington ratio at which outflows dominate over rotation in the NLR, and 3) the connection between feeding and feedback, including the possibility that most of the outflow is due to acceleration of gas off the fueling flow.
