Title: A Search for Giant Planets around a Nearby, Young, Low-mass Star
Abstract: We have identified a nearby (D=8 pc), 40 Myr old mid-M type star. This object presents a unique opportunity to probe the planetary system architecture of a low-mass star. We propose deep Gemini/NICI adaptive optics imaging to detect or constrain the presence of Jupiter and possibly sub-Jupiter mass planets at separations greater than 2 AU from this low-mass star.
