Title: Abundances and kinematics of intermediate-age LMC clusters.
Abstract:
Intermediate-age stellar populations dominate the high-redshift universe.
Looking back through space and time we push our frontiers to gain insight on
those early stages of the cosmic evolution. Current understanding is solely
based on the comparison between observed integrated-light and model
predictions. Unfortunately the modeling of the intermediate ages is the
bottleneck in most Simple Stellar Populations (SSP) Models. Large Magellanic
Cloud harbors a healthy system of massive clusters with ages suitable to
tackle these limitations. Here we propose to observe a comprehensive dataset
of clusters with ages between 1 and 2 Gyr. This will be the first database
entirely focused on that extremely complicated range of SSP ages. It will
provide crucial information to the model builders and deepen our knowledge
about the LMC.
