Title: A Megacam Survey of Galactic Halo Substructure

Abstract: Our understanding of the Galactic halo has been altered dramatically in the last few years with many extremely low surface brightness stellar substructures recently discovered. However, the detailed properties of these systems, and their relationship to \it other substructures in the outer halo such as stellar streams, faint globular clusters and dSph galaxies, is unclear at the present time. We are conducting a deep, wide-field imaging survey (g- and r-band) to carry out the most comprehensive - and homogeneous - study to date of the spatial structure of \it all known stellar over-densities in the outer Galactic halo (R_G \gtrsim 25 kpc). We have so far imaged or are scheduled to observed 34 of all 42 known over-densities in the Galactic halo. Here we request two nights of Magellan/Megacam to complete the survey for the six objects which are only accessible in the southern hemisphere, with (delta) < -30^\circ, and two additional dSph discovered this semester. The availability of Magellan/Megacam represents a unique opportunity to complete this survey on similar cameras in both hemispheres. These data will be the first to examine comprehensively the photometric and structural properties for a complete and unbias sample of outer halo substructures, irrespective of morphological classification.
