Title: Synoptic Monitoring of Star-Forming Cores
Abstract:
We propose to use ANDICAM on the CTIO 1.3m to obtain synoptic
monitoring at J- and Ks-bands of Class I and II young stellar objects in
the the Spokes Cluster in NGC2264 and the MonR2 star-forming core, each
for a 20 night period. These data will be used to complement time-
series photometry we will be obtaining simultaneously with IRAC on the
Spitzer Space Telescope. The goal of this program is to use the multi-
wavelength photometric monitoring data to determine the physical
mechanisms responsible for the near-IR and mid-IR variability of these
YSOs. These observations should shed new light on the processes
involved in the formation and evolution of circumstellar (planet-
forming) disks and on the accretion of matter from these disks onto
their "host" stars.
