Title: Continuing Observations of Cepheids in Sloan Filters
Abstract: We propose to continue our previous programs to monitor the light curves of Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) Cepheids and the southern Galactic Cepheids, in Sloan ugriz filters, using the CTIO 0.9m telescope. Our targets are well-known Cepheids with period range from 3 to 100 days. The purpose of these observations is to calibrate the Cepheid period-luminosity (PL) relations in the Sloan filters, which are increasingly becoming dominant in extragalactic work. We request additional nights to continue the monitoring of the southern Galactic Cepheids that are visible near the end of 2010A semester, and to complete the light curves for the LMC Cepheids.
