Title: Angular Diameters of Stars in the Beta Pic Moving Group
Abstract: Members of the (beta) Pic Moving Group (BPMG) are young enough (10- 20 MY) and near enough (<50 pc) that some are resolvable with the CHARA interferometer operating in the K-band. Measurement of their angular diameters opens the possibility of new empirical tests of the theoretical calculations of evolution to the main sequence and will produce determinations of their ages that are independent of isochrone on the HR diagram. We propose CHARA observation of 6 stars in the BPMG predicted to have angular diameters >~ 0.5 milliarc sec (mas).
