Title: Photometric Survey of Intermediate Mass Members of the Orion OB1 Association
Abstract: We propose to survey 15 deg^2 of the OB1a and OB1b groups of the Orion OB1 association to measure UBVRI photometry of high and intermediate mass members of the association. This survey will address two goals. First, it will extend the photometric coverage of association members to cover the full spectrum of masses between 0.01 M_\odot and 40 M_\odot - extant photometry misses most stars in the range 1 M_\odot to 3 M_\odot (10<V<12). Second, we will obtain uniform UBVRI photometry for the B stars of the association (7<V<10). A dereddened V vs B-V color-magnitude diagram made from published UBV photometry has association members distributed over a 2 magnitude wide swath. This surprisingly wide distribution suggests that there may be some problems with the published photometry. Few of these stars have measured Cousins R and I photometry, and the photoelectric UBV photometry comes from a variety of sources incorporating work spanning 2 or more decades.
