Title: Kinematic Properties of the Northern Arm of the Sagittarius Stream
Abstract:
We are requesting time on the WIYN 3.5m with Hydra to extend our
study of the tidal tails of the Sagittarius dwarf spheroidal galaxy. At
the end of August we successfully observed a section of the Southern Arm
and we are now proposing to observe a portion of the Northern Arm. Our
goal is to continue our program to explore the ratio of horizontal
branch to red clump stars within the stream and to search for variations
within this ratio between the trailing and leading arms and over several
orbital wraps.
