Title: Evolution of Accretion Disks Around Young O-F Stars in IC 1805
Abstract: We propose to combine WIYN-Hydra spectroscopy with Spitzer IRAC and MIPS observations diagnostic of dust distributions in the inner disks surrounding intermediate mass stars to determine: a) the times scales associated with disk dispersal among intermediate mass stars; and b) evolution-driven changes in the distribution of inner disk material. We request WIYN Hydra time to determine spectral types for 500 stars in the rich, young (1-2 Myr) cluster IC 1805-an ideal laboratory for studying disk evolution among intermediate mass stars given the large number of members with masses less than 7 M_\odot that fall along pre-main sequence (PMS) radiative tracks. The data will enable us to (a) derive L and T_eff; (b) estimate ages and masses via comparison with evolutionary tracks; and (c) track the evolution of SEDs for intermediate mass stars spanning a range of masses and ages. These observations will be used to evaluate the role of suggested mechanisms for driving disk evolution and will help to guide our understanding of the role played by analogous processes in solar-type stars.
