Title: A Near-Infrared Survey of Extragalactic \textitSIRTF Fields
Abstract: In the very near future, \textitSIRTF will be observing fields with extensive optical and X-ray data, providing photometry from 3.6- 160 (micron) for many thousands of galaxies in their rest-frame K-band and far-IR. Here, we propose to complete the coverage of these fields in K_s with FLAMINGOS on the KPNO-4m, which will provide our only observations of galaxies at z~ 1-3 in their rest-frame optical, where the most is known from local galaxy surveys. With an investment in NOAO resources that is small compared to that already allocated with \textitSIRTF and X-ray observatories, we will remove the most significant remaining obstacle in a comprehensive survey of the properties of galaxies and AGN at z > 1 to similar studies of the local Universe.
