Title: Multi-object K-band Spectroscopy of the X-ray-emitting YSOs Detected by Chandra in Orion Molecular Clouds
Abstract:
We propose K-band multi-object spectroscopy observations of NIR-
identified Chandra sources in Orion molecular cloud 2 and 3. Using
FLAMINGOS, we aim to determine the effective temperatures of NIR-
identified Chandra sources using temperature-sensitive lines/bands in
order to estimate their mass and age on a source basis using the HR
diagram. These will give a uniform sample to examine any relations
between X-ray properties (X-ray luminosity and plasma temperature) and
stellar parameters (age and mass) with a statistically meaningful number
of samples. This is the first comprehensive NIR spectroscopy follow-up
observation of X-ray-emitting PMS sources in Chandra fields, which will
be an important step to understand the origin of the X-ray emissions
from PMS sources.
