Title: The Orbital Period of the Cataclysmic Variable V378 Peg (PG 2337+300)
Abstract: I propose to carry out a radial velocity study of the cataclysmic variable V378 Peg (PG 2337+300), in order to measure its orbital period, vital for determining its size, distance, evolutionary state, and physical nature. I would use a standard radial velocity study, of which I have carried out many in the past, using the H alpha emission line. This is the last cataclysmic variable (CV) in the statistically complete sample of the Palomar-Green survey (Green, Schmidt, & Liebert 1986) for which the orbital period is unknown: having a complete set of orbital periods would allow population study of the evolution of CVs.
