The Curtis Schmidt telescope is a 0.61/0.91-meter Schmidt telescope. It was originally installed at the University of Michigan's Portage Lake Observatory in 1950, and moved to the much clearer skies of Cerro Tololo in 1966. Two thirds of the time on this telescope is available to US and Chilean astronomers, with the remaining one third reserved for astronomers from the University of Michigan.
