Transportation to and from Kitt Peak
There is no public transportation to and from Kitt Peak however, a private service, Adobe Shuttle, has agreed to provide transportation as a pay service to visitors on the Mountain. This service will run during the day and at night for the Nightly Observing Program. The shuttle service is separate from the Kitt Peak visitor center and is not associated with Kitt Peak or NOAO. All transportation reservations are made through Adobe and NOT the visitor Center. Call 520-609-0593 to make your transportation reservation.
Day Trips:
- Require no reservation. Call Adobe direct to make your travel plans.
- There is a 9AM pick up either at your hotel or at Adobe’s operation base at the Clarion Hotel at 6801 South Tucson blvd.
- Departure from Kitt Peak is 1:30PM
- Fees are based on the number of people in a vehicle. Groups of 10 or more get a special rate.
NOP:
- Transportation Fee does not include the cost of the NOP.
- Make your NOP Reservation first by calling 520-318-8726.
- Departure times vary and are based on sun set times.
- Departure from hotel or any of Adobe's rental locations.
- Fees are based on the number of people in a vehicle. Groups of 10 or more get a special rate. A minimum reservation is 3 people however, call Adobe for rates based on less than three.
- Remember this is a weather dependent program and all cancellation policies are still in place. If for some reason your plans change and you have to cancel, it is your responsibility to cancel both the NOP reservation and your travel reservation in order to avoid any cancellation fees.
- Both the Day and night trips are based on a 6 hours pickup/drop off period.
