Kitt Peak National Observatory

Young children are just as fascinated as everyone else is with objects in the sky. Unfortunately they have trouble staying up to observe the many celestial wonders in the night sky, so they can’t take advantage of our Nightly Observing Program. This program gives those junior astronomers a chance to observe solar system objects at a time that is more comfortable for them. In addition junior astronomers and their parents engage in hands-on activities designed to increase their understanding of the objects being observed: the Sun and the Moon.

Let your junior astronomers explore their universe at Kitt Peak and still get a good night’s sleep.
