Proposal Types
Proposal Types
Each new proposal that is started using the NOAO Web Proposal Form must
have the correct proposal type associated with it so that the
proper form and instructions are available to the author and so that the
proposal file is identified correctly for further processing by the
proposal queue software.
There are currently four proposal types - please be sure to select the
one that applies to your proposal so that it may be forwarded to the
appropriate TAC:
- standard - most proposals will fall into this category.
This identifies the standard proposal form for requesting observing time
at any of NOAO's nighttime telescope facilities, includging the US share of
Gemini time and NOAO-coordinated community access to private facilities.
These proposals are accepted semi-annually and are
reviewed by the NOAO review panels and TAC.
- survey - if you have filed a Letter of Intent for a Survey
Proposal (deadline February 15) then you need to select this option
for your survey proposal in order to get the right form and instructions.
Survey proposals are accepted annually.
- indiana - if you wish to submit a proposal to the Indiana University's internal TAC, for their share of time on WIYN, select this option. These proposals will be sent to Indiana University for review.
- wisconsin - if you wish to submit a proposal to the University of Wisconsin's internal TAC, for their share of time on WIYN, select this option. These proposals will be sent to the University of Wisconsin for review.
