  • ME fits only produce a fill-factor value, not any stray light
  • Use 18 June 2002 scans of solar disk in 1083nm to find stray light
  • Use stray light to correct CN equivalent width vs. Temp. for 10008
  • How much of the observed roll-over is stray light, how much is chemistry?
  • What other possible physical variables can change Equiv. Width? B?

  • Extract stray light values for NOAA 10008 Milne-Eddington fit
  • Use stray light to correct CN equivalent width vs. Temp. for 10008
  • Extract stray light values for NOAA 10663 Milne-Eddington fit
  • Use stray light to correct CN equivalent width vs. Temp. for 10663
  • Fit a function to spatial distribution of stray light in both spots
  • Use fitted function to correct several other sunspots.
  • How much of the observed roll-over is stray light, how much is chemistry?
  • What about Evershed flows from spots?
