Note Added in Proof - [Paper IV: 1998, PASP (Accepted for May issue)]

Spectroscopic observations of a few candidates from this list were obtained recently with the ARC 3.5m telescope at the Apache Point Observatory. The spectra cover a range of 3600-10,000 A at a resolution of ~15 A. Two sources, Lanning 311 and Lanning 321, have been confirmed as newly identified DA white dwarfs. Both exhibit a very blue continuum and broad Balmer absorption (E. W. Deutsch and B. Margon, private communication).
