Abstract
We have obtained spectra of 19 of the ultraviolet-excess objects discovered on
two-color plates by Lanning (1973), and find a least two interesting objects
for further study. Lanning 10 exhibits broad Balmer and He II 4686 emission,
and is probably a previously un-noted cataclysmic variable. Lanning 33
(=LS V +27°23) is an early B-type shell star, with strong, narrow Balmer
emission, as well as prominent Fe II emission lines. Both objects exhibit
spectral variability.
