- Artificial Horizons
- Observatory #1 ( RCOS 20in Ritchey-Chretien telescope at the Visitor Center) has an artificial horizon, due to the observatory walls, that extends 20 degrees above the true horizon in altitude. This means the most southern targets available are around -37 degrees in declination (on the meridian).
- Roll-off Roof (ROR) Observatory ( RCOS 16in Ritchey-Chretien telescope) Artifical horizon to be determined.
- Observatory #2 (Meade 16in LX200) Clear to the horizon in most directions. to the southern horizon.
Always bring very warm clothing to the mountain!
