Preliminary Design Review of the Primary Mirror...(1Mar94)

A preliminary design review (PDR) of the Gemini Primary Mirror Assembly
(PMA) was held 6-8 December 1993.  The PDR Committee was unanimous in
finding that the design approach presented will lead to the successful
development of a PMA that will achieve the specified scientific
performance requirements under most observing conditions.  Action items
were identified in order to prepare the PMA subsystems for a critical
design review in about a year.  Cost and schedule for the PMA were not
part of this PDR.  The report of the PDR Review Committee, together
with the Gemini Project response will be available shortly.  Contact
