New Washington Filters (1Jun93) (from KPNO, NOAO Newsletter No. 34, 1 June 1993) KPNO now has Washington filters (C, M, T1, T2, 51) in both 2-inch square and 4-inch square sizes. The C, M, T1, T2 filters are particularly useful for metallicity measures of G and K giants, while the 51 filter (also occasionally used in the DDO system) allows discrimination between dwarfs and giants in field star studies where foreground dwarfs are a problem.
