The Support Capability Requirements of 8m-Telescope Science

Abstract:

We summarise studies within the Gemini partnership of illustrative science programs which could be carried out on the Gemini 8m telescopes, as well as providing several specific examples. These programs are used to identify the requirements they place on the operation and capabilities of other supporting facilities, smaller telescopes, surveys, measuring machines, software and archives, as well as those imposed on Gemini.
