Gamma Ray Burst 980519

The Nordic Optical Telescope has found an optical counteraprt associated with this burst. See their GCN circular and their web page for details.

Here is a 15 arcminute excerpt from the scanned POSS plates showing the field of GRB 980519. FITS and JPEG format finder charts.

RA(2000)=350.561
Dec(2000)=+77.255

with an error radius of 3'.

This is 2' from the preliminary position.
