The CTIO summer students visit Gemini South (part of the main mirror mount is visible behind them). The group contained five U.S. students from the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program supported by the National Science Foundation, and two Chilean undergraduates from the Practicas de Investigacion en Astronomia (PIA).
