Summer 2002 saw eight undergraduates in Tucson as participants in the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program operated at the National Solar Observatory and supported by the National Science Foundation. Shown are (left to right): Marjorie Frankel (Wellesley College), Erika Roesler (Northern Arizona University), Adam Kraus (University of Kansas), Joy Chavez (University of Houston), William Plick (Connecticut College), Mary Melton (Texas A&M University), and Carol Thornton (Virginia Polytechnic Institute).
