The new Flexure Test Facility building under construction at the southeast corner of NOAO's facility in Tucson (progress as of 26 February 2002). This provides the ability to suspend an instrument and to rotate it around to all orientations it might experience when mounted on a telescope, to check for unexpected stresses or larger than required distortions of its structure. For further details, see the June 2002 NOAO Newsletter (no.70), USGP section (currently only available in PDF format).
